What's the purpose of my "Art"?

As I continue to draw and sketch daily, I feel that I don't have depth or strength in pieces I make.
If I feel the motivation or have an idea, then I'll make something quite quickly and wait to post it on my Instagram and Twitter.
Every time I post, I tell myself to not let the likes and follows sway my feelings, but it always does. I don't know if I want my accounts to grow, and I don't even know what I would do if they did. Do I want to attract an audience based on fan art? I know that might be the easiest way, but it seems a bit shallow to me. Not that I don't enjoy the spectacular art made by amazing artists, but I've just been fed the idea that art needs to be original and daring if you're a "real artist".
I'm also embarrassed that almost all my pieces are anime related or an anime style, makes me feel inferior and immature. So I've decided to try to expanding of references and style, and maybe subscribe to Skillshare, I guess it's true that an "artist" never truly stops creating.
My art has no purpose for now and maybe forever, but I'll keep going like the little engine that could.
